Page Fivi badin bulletin Rules and Regulations The Tallassee Power Company Volun- Hospital Association was formed to place at the disposal of all Tallassee Power Company’s employees at Badin, the services of the hospital at a low cost. This service is available for the employee, his father and mother, wife, children when dependent on him. This service includes medicines given individual doses by the doctor when patient is in the hospital, board, I'oom, X-ray fees, operating room fees (including anesthetics, towels, gauze, expenses of sterilization, etc.), dressing (material only), hospital laundry, obstet- ^ical fee, and general nursing. Members suffering from contagious or '^finereal diseases cannot be admitted to the hospital, and this association does ^ot include such service. This service only contemplates use of the Wards by the patients. Private ^ooms-—when available—can be had at additional charge of fifty cents per In case the wards are full, the patient will be placed in a private room, Without extra charge, until there is a Vacancy in the ward, t^octor’s services are not included, and to be arranged for with the doctor. The hospital is to be under the super vision of the resident physician. Services of a special nurse are to be paid for by the patient. Special nurse ^11 be arranged for upon notice to the head nurse. The laboratory and drug room will be ^nder the direct supervision of the head ^ui'se, and medicine shall be issued on prescription or requisitions only. Arrangements can be made with the i^e^dent physician to do X-ray work, he resident physician will be in arge of the operating-room, and ar- ^angements for its use can only be made I'ough him. In obstetrical cases, at least thirty days’ written notice should be given the head nurse, in order to be sure to have a room for the patient. Membership in this association is open to all employees of the Tallassee Power Company, but application must be made prior to September 1, 1920. Such appli cation must be accompanied by the first month’s dues. Any employee of the Tallassee Power Company who is in the service of that Company prior to September 1, 1920, and who does not become a member of this association prior to that time, will be barred from membership until the opening of the next membership cam-, paign. Every new employee of the Company must make application for membership prior to the expiration of the first seven days of employment with the Company. If he does not make application in that period, he is barred from membership until the opening of the next member ship campaign. Every new employee will be allowed thirty days after making application for membership in which to make his first payment of membership dues, which will apply from date of application, provided in that period he does not require hos pital attention. However, if during that period he does require hospital atten tion, he will have to pay his membership fee before admission to the hospital. De pendents of employees will not become eligible for admission into the hospital for a period of thirty days after such employee becomes a member. Every ap plicant for admission to the hospital as sociation must pass a physical examina tion before being accepted as a member, but employees’ dependents do not have to pass such examination. The resident physician will conduct a physical exami nation, and will furnish to the applicant a certificate, which must be presented to the Cashier when application for membership is made. No member is allowed free hospital service as outlined herein until he has been a member for ten days. Membership fees are as follows: Married men with families, $1.50 per month. Single men, $1.00 per month. Any member not paying his dues on or before the tenth of each month will automatically be dropped, and cannot again become a member until the open ing of the next membership campaign. A member who is released by the Com pany, upon again becoming an employee is entitled to immediate membership upon payment of dues. Payments of membership fees are to be made to the Cashier of the Rent, Light, and Water Department Office. Application for membership should be made at that office. The hospital will be available to non members of the association at the reg ular rates, viz.: Private room and board, $21.00 per week. Ward, room and board, $17.50 per week. But members of the association will receive preference in being admitted for treatment.
