Saturday, November 28, 1942 CLOUDBUSTER Page Five Cloudbusters Close Season Against Fordham Today NEW YORK, N. Y.. Nov. 27—Jim Crowley, once the pride of Fordham on Rose Hill and now Lieut. Comdr. James H. Crowley of Chapel Hill, re turns to Gotham tomorrow where his U. S. Navy Pre-Flight School Cloud busters meet the Fordham Rams at the Yankee Stadium in ai headline grid at traction. The game, No. 11 on the Cloudbuster schedule, ends the season for both teams and a rousing battle is expected. With Crowley will come more than a few former Fordham football players, now enlisted in the Navy and still battling for their former college coach. The Rams, of course, would like nothing better than a victory over the Cloudbusters and such a thought is well within the realm of possibility in view of last Saturday’s developments. While the Navy was handing William & Mary its first defeat of the season, the Rams were kicking the dope bucket around by handing the Missouri Ti- gei'S, Big Six champions, a defeat at New York. Missouri was the top heavy favorite before game time but after the first kickoff the Tigers had trouble avoiding a crushing defeat. Tomorrow the Cloudbusters can ex pect anything from the Rams and will have to perform in the same manner that has given them eight victories and one tie in ten starts to date. The ’Busters were stopped for three quar ters in the William & Mary clash. In the fourth period Mort Landsberg broke loose for 16 yards and a touch down on a double reverse and a few minutes later Walter Zwiezynski pop ped through center from the 10 for the second counter. Hayward Sanford place-kicked the extra points. Two more games were to be played by the Cloudbusters after the Fordham tilt but both have been cancelled be cause of transportation difficulties. Colgate was to have been the foe at Chapel Hill, Dec. 5, and the Iowa Pre- Flight School was also scheduled to play on the Cloudbusters’ field, Dec. 12. The squad left Chapel Hill Thurs- -day evening and had a light workout at the Stadium here today. Included in the starting lineup are six former Fordham stars—John Witkowski, left end; Steve Hudacek, left tackle; Charles Pierce, right guard; Joe Ko vach, center; Bill Krywicki, quarter Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Company GREENSBORO, N.
