The contest will be a preliminary to the Catawba College-Cloudbuster game which will follow. Present leaders of basketball competition in the Winter Sports Program, the Skyrockets won eight straight before losing to the Mustangs, 28 to 27, on Tuesday afternoon. The cadets, left to right, are C. R. Lentz, W. J. Beck and W. E. Boughman, all of 38-C-3, and E. S. Fox and J. T. Burger of 42-K-3. Myers, Palmer Set Scoring Pace As Cloudbusters Win Two More Without any trouble at all the Cloudbusters registered their eighth and ninth victories here this week. On Monday night the Ft. Bragg Fourth Field Artilleiy was de feated, 66 to 36, while on Wednesday the Pre-Flighters won over the Maxton Air Base, 67 to 39. It was Cadets Whitey Myers and Bud Palmer who did most of the Cloudbuster scoring, but the en-f" tire first team turned They Dood It in com- inendable performances in both contests. The passing of Tippy Dye, Stan Skaug, and Don Elser was an im portant factor in the Myers-Pal- mer combination. The Ft. Bragg quintet arrived late, and when action got under lay the Pre-Flighters took the lead from the start and held it all the way. At half-time the Navy lads led, 25 to 17. To start the second half Palmer connected on two of his famous “hesitation" shots, and Myers con tributed six points from the pivot. That moved the score to 35-17, and the winners coasted over the rest of the route. Only George Cheverko, former l^ordham ace, proved to be an of fensive threat for the losers. He Scored 21 points, 17 of which were ^ade in the last period. The Maxton Air Base game was all Cloudbuster. At no time did the visitors threaten to take the l^ad, and the starting Pre-Flight Quintet played but half the game. As usual the fine passing of Skaug, Dye and Elser was out standing, while Myers and Palmer did the scoring. A total of 44 points was made by the latter two. In both games Coach Raese used a total of 15 men.
