rr n I ro. FIBERS AND TEXTILES COMPANY GASTONIA PLANT OCTOBER. 1991 VOL. 5. NO. 1 PLANT MANAGER'S MESSAGE By: J. Anand I would like to thank everyone for their support during our 1992 United Way campaign. Again we have demonstrated that, with teamwork, we can achieve our goals. Our customers at the tire plants will be going to a more flexible scheduling system in the near future. This means we at Gastonia will have a shorter time span from order to shipment. Absenteeism can make the job of meeting our customers' demands even more difficult. The last five weeks we have made progress in decreasing waste. With further team effort and focus on doing our jobs right the first time, we can continue this trend of improvement. REMEMBER - “SHOW YOUR PRIDE - KEEP YOUR WORK area AND FLOORS NEAT AND CLEAN" SAFETY NEWS By: Bill Passmore We have completed the first year of the Blue Ribbon Safety Contest. You should be commended for your efforts to work in a safe manner. Accidents don't just happen, they are caused by unsafe acts or conditions. The Key Safety teams are working to help eliminate the unsafe conditions, looking for unsafe acts, however, it is the responsibility of each employee to stop unsafe acts. At this writing there have been four accidents posted on the board in the main lobby. Let's work to have the board clear during November.
