pi{Ofiton[ flviBiioo (i£iijs Friday, September 28, 1945 BI-WEEKLY PAYROLL & INSURANCE There were some objections to making our payroll bi~weekly. The management has decided, therefore, to continue with a weekly payroll. The interest shown in insurance was sufficient for us to make further inves tigation. The insurance companies we have contacted so far in regard to life insur ance and sick benefits do not accept a group policy unless the number of partici pating employees is fifty or more. It may be necessary for us to wait until our employees reach that number. The hospital insurance is available to all employees. The agent for this policy will be with us on Tuesday, October 2nd, at 4:30 P.k,, to complete all applications. Before this date Mr. Ponish will contact all employees and go into the matter in detail. POETIC TALENT Our neighbors are poets and wo did not know it. Eastern Air Lines entrusted us with the repair of one set of their passenger steps. In order to do a good job it took some time for surfacing and repainting the steps. It happens at times that there are two Eastern Air Lines planes on the field, when the night crew is on duty. One can readily see that with only one set of steps the crow would be busier than a one- armed paperhanger trying to unload and load passengers, Mr. Frank Stulgaitis re ceived the following note from his night crcw; Chronic Gripes "To work two planes on the ground at the same time, Is difficult, but that we don’t mind. But to complete this task we’ve got to admit, By doing it with one loading step, Vfc'll hustle a bit. So to keep us from hurrying about so snappy. Just give us our steps back and we'll be happy* Mid Nite Crew" Not to be outdone, Mr, Stulgaitis posted this reply: The Iron Fist in the Velvet Glove "To hear the lament of the youthful male. One would imagine too much travail, But the 'Chief smells coercion. From the souls of these urchins. So to them he says in a daze. Your troubles will be over one of these day£ ANNOUNCEMENTS There are still a nimber of PA Emblem lapel pins available at the office for $1.00 (plus sales tax), with either pin back or screw back.
