For example, 3 lbs from CLT to CVG Air Express is $2,50, Air Freight is $3.00, and Air Parcel Post is $L65, And there is no tax on Air Parcel Post. Sell the best service! . We need all the busi ness from all the services! - FIXED BASE - R. S. Northington Red WILLARD announces that we now have a fully equipped and operating plating shop, and we can now take care of chrome, cadium, copper, tin and lead plating. During the month of May the Engine Shop turned out the largest amount of work in the Company’s history, and June was another big month. To help take care of the additional work two new employees have joined us. They are George SHORE and Harry MABE.... R. S. NORTHINGTON and T, H. DAVIS attended the mid-year meeting of the Aviation Distributors and Manufacturers Asso ciation at the Homestead, Hot Springs, Virginia, June 27 through June 29« - EAL SAN JUAN CONTEST - L. W. Golson During the month of April Eastern Air Lines sponsored a contest for the purpose of selling Miami and/or San Juan business. Participants in this contest were personnel of thirteen PAI stations, which were divided into two teams - The Northern and the Southern. The winner of the Northern Division is Irwin APPLE - GSO (formerly NNW) with 38 points, and the winner of the Southern Division is George WILLARD = INT, with 42 points. As a result, these two fortunate gentlemen will leave the New York gateway on EAL’s Flight 629 “The Peurto E.ican” at 8:00 A.M. EST some fine morning and arrive in San Juan at 3:10 P.M.AST. Can you imagine a more delightful flight., or a more wonderful place to be billeted than the Caribe-Hilton Hotel in San Juan, and the McFadden-Deauville Hotel at Miami Beach, on the return trip?..... Congratulations, fellows - and have a fine time! (Editor’s note: The Piedmonitor just received a post card from Irwin Apple - “Greetings to everyone from Miami Beach. The water, sun and women are fine - Regards.”) - INT PARTY - In case all of you haven’t heard details of the PAI party held in INT June 2nd here’s a brief re-hasho Starting at 1:30 p.m. and lasting way into the night, both young and old had a won derful time. Ball game - swimming - races and contests - balloons and ponies for the children - good food - and beer and dancing after the sun went down! It was good to have a lot of you folks in the field with us, and next time we hope those of you who couldn’t make it this time will join us. Thanks to PAI for the usual “Best of all“ parties, and to Nell ADAMS for the stupendous job of developing and executing an affair that met with the appro val of everyone! Also thanks to Stan BRUNT, Bill BARBER, Henry WOOD, Reid COOK and Margaret TISE, who so ably assisted. Congratulations to Margaret TISE, H. W. CARROLL, and R. S. NORTHINGTON, who were among the prize winners in the races and contests - and to Edith SAUNDERS, who “also ran” in all the women’s races! We are glad to report that the “casualties” of the day, Mitchell EVERHART, George HENDRIX, and Mrs. L. H. JACKSON, have all recovered. - COMMUNICATIONS CHATTER - W. D.
