THE PIEDMONITOR Vol. 1 No. 9 “Piedmont Sets the Pace” December 1, 1951 NOVEMBER TRAFFIC - During November we carried approximately 16,003 passengers, which is 1,487 below quota. The load factor for the month is a tentative 49.47%. Inclement weather was a contributing cause to the completion figure of 95%, and thusly the less than 50% load factor. Let’s end ol’ 1951 with a big month in December! - INT CHRISTMAS PARTY - N. G. Adams Our annual Christmas Party this year will be held December 1 5 at the Robert E. Lee Hotel Roof. Many things have been planned for this eventful night and all Piedmont employees, their wives, husbands, dates, are invited to attend... V/e would like to see a representative from each station if at all possible. - Get together and see if some of you can make plans to attend. Be sure to notify either Mr. Hager or Miss Adams if you plan to be here so that arrangements can be made with the Hotel for the number of people attending - and also for your invitation card, which is to be presented at the door. The party will begin at 8:00 and last until.... We look for ward to seeing all of you who are able to join the fun! = MAINTENANCE We now have 621 out of overhaul and on flight as its maiden run following its conversion and overhaul. It is, in practically every respect identical in the interior to 322 of which we are very proud. Everyone at INT maintenance and overhaul has worked very hard to get 621 out on time and should be congratulated on the fine job done... Ship 468 is due in for overhaul and conversion around the first of Dec. and you can look for it to put in an appearance at the various line stations shortly after New Years Day with it’s face lifted by a completely new interior, like 322 and 621. CINCINNATI - T. R. Cowen Several incidents have occurred in the past which should be clarified in reference to interline reservations. We have noticed that some station will book space to SDF and then i equest EAL to CHI and then book DAL CHICVG with passenger booked CVG to destination. Since the con tinuing space is being requested by SDF from EAL they will also have to request the DAL CHI CVG space and therefore it cannot be booked. The following is an example: (No, Pete, this is just an example, and it did not occur from your station!) “INTR SDF CVG - 3-16 BK JONES SDF EAL 186-16 ND SDFCHI DAL 637 = 18 BK CHICVG 58-18 BK CVGIMN - IMN”...... The only action we take on this reservation is to chart the 58-18 CVGIMN. But since the mes sage states BK DAL CHICVG we have been advising DAL to book the space and watch for a dupe from EAL. If you want CVG to book the space please send a separate request, however, it would be best to let SDF get all the space. We have also had many cases where return space on DAL has been booked when the going space is WL. DAL will not book or request return or
