Irwin is back in the office after spending a
few days in the hospital at RDU.
Of interest may be the recent addition of
Avis rent-a-car. The service can now be
reserved at the airport here in CHW. Of
course we stil I have the fine expedient
service of Hertz.
Bob Wood has been promoted to Agent, re
placing Eddie Awash . Bob has been refuel
ing our Pacemakers for the past six months.
Good luck to Eddie with AAL in PKB. We
know Bob will do a fine replacement job.
Paul Kelley is now a year older. His shift
having celebrated his birthday with a party
"after hours". Along with a birthday this
month should be remembered five years
with PAl. PK is a fine shift leader and
certainly an asset to CHW.
The Burns have moved to a new apartment in
Kanawha City. And the Benders have
moved to a new apartment on Jean St. So
there is plenty of activity in the moving van
business.
SHEET METAL NEWS By

With the men of Sheet Metal burning the
midnight oil. Champion Sparkplug's DC-3
was reconverted to the satisfaction of Capt.
Ken Colthorpe and the Plug men of Toledo.
The reconversion involved rework of radio,
new buffet, enlargement of all windows
including 4 picture windows. The interior
was finished in imported Scotch brown
leather, plastic 'off white' head linerwith
green upholstery. Aneat looking airplane
a source of great satisfaction to the men
of Sheet Metal, whose workmanship was
praised by a satisfied customer.
Now the real test has begun, the recon
version of ALCOA's DC-3. With the full
co-operation of ALCOA this airplane is
going to be a masterpiece of showmanship,
with an interior to end all interiors, but
the proof of the pudding is in the eating
and we have a great deal of hard work be
fore us. Maybe by the time this goes to
print some results will begin to show, but
with a nine hour day, six days a week,
every effort is being made to do a good job.
