J^W* Laros, former district ranger
of the Highland District, has assumed new
duties at Talladega, Al.abama, after having
been head ranger for the Highland District
since it was formed in July of 1953» Mr.
Laros is assistant ranger of the Talladega
district of the Talladega Forests He and
Mrsa Laros and tiieir children, Alan and
Michael, moved to Talladega last weekc
Mr. Laros is succeeded here by Pat Int-
Hout, fomer assistant ranger at Clayton,
Gao

Mr. Dewey Hopper has been admitted to
the hospital for medical treatment.

In Sunday's ball game Highlands played
a team from Anderson, S.C. on the High
lands ball fieldo
Ihompson was the winning pitcher, and
the score was tied 6-6 in the 9th inning.
Highlands scored 1 run in the bottom of
the 9th inning, winning the game 7 to 6.
Next Sunday the Highlands team will
play LaF^ance, S.C* here, and the follow
ing Sunday they will play a team from
Anderson, ScCa Starting time for the
games is 2330.
