Dear Amos: (Con’t,)
lots* The other night, even then it was
raining like everything, we all sat a-
roimd the big open fire, and told stories,
and played ’'Cherades", and nibbled on all
sorts of goodies, and had a wonderful
time! The lights were low and the stories
were rt?re, and, well, you can imagine the
fun we had. It made us realize what a
lovely little dwelling the place would
make, with open fire and just the right
kind of furnishings—room dividers and
all that]IJ My cousin says she would be
willing to let some one buy it as a little
home and, there have been several people
who have tc2ked with her about buying it,
but I, for one, will hate to see the
little place soldi At all* To me it is
altogether charming, with its weH estab
lished grounds, good fishing in the lake,
boating and swijuming too, right at ones
very door!I We really are hoping that it
will not sell too soon, for we will miss
hrving our little partiesIJ Of course my
cousin says she is making other plans, for
another little place, not a shop at all,
but just a little place where she can have
nil of her friends come ojid be with her to
enjoy the many pleasures one can have here
in Highlands.
Well, be that as it may, I shall always
love the memories of the dear little shop
as it nestles down by that beautifial pla
cid lake, and I shall hope that some one
will buy the little house and make of it,
either a Gift Shop as lovely as that of my
cousins "The Country Mouse, or have a
home of it, a home in the repj. sense of
the word.
Give my love to the children and tell
them that I shall expect good behavior
from them this summer, since they are so
