The performance will feature the Orchestra of the Faculty and Staff, conducted by Janies Christian Pfohl; and will also present the Choral Ensemble, with student and staff soloists under the direction of Gordon Page, sing ing selections from the Broadway musicals ’’Carousel,'* "Stage Door,” "The King and I," "South Pacific," "Oklahoma," and the latest hit "Pipe Dream," On Sunday, 15, Eugene List, gift ed American pianist, will be featured, Mr. List has been acclaimed by critics for his performances in concerts and recitals, and by audiences who have seen him on television and in the movie "Bachelor’s Daughter," He has appeared 32 times with the New York PhilhoTHionic, This Sunday at 4:00 he will play the Liszt Concerto in E-Flat, with the Tran sylvania Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of James Christian Pfohl, On Tuesday evening at B;15, thi Muvsic Center will present Eugene List’s dis tinguished wife, Caroll Glenn, one of the world’s most celebrated woman violin ists, The richly endowed Miss Glenn, originally from South Carolina, was re cently the subject of an article in the Saturday Evening Post, which described her as "one of the few really popular violinists," OLD EflGLISH SILVER SHOP SILVER SHEFFIELD COPPER PORCELAIN Nearly everything older than 1830, Each day we have a "Special" ~ one fine antique piece reduced to half price. The lights were low and the stories were rt?re, and, well, you can imagine the fun we had. It made us realize what a lovely little dwelling the place would make, with open fire and just the right kind of furnishings—room dividers and all that]IJ My cousin says she would be willing to let some one buy it as a little home and, there have been several people who have tc2ked with her about buying it, but I, for one, will hate to see the little place soldi At all* To me it is altogether charming, with its weH estab lished grounds, good fishing in the lake, boating and swijuming too, right at ones very door!I We really are hoping that it will not sell too soon, for we will miss hrving our little partiesIJ Of course my cousin says she is making other plans, for another little place, not a shop at all, but just a little place where she can have nil of her friends come ojid be with her to enjoy the many pleasures one can have here in Highlands. Well, be that as it may, I shall always love the memories of the dear little shop as it nestles down by that beautifial pla cid lake, and I shall hope that some one will buy the little house and make of it, either a Gift Shop as lovely as that of my cousins "The Country Mouse, or have a home of it, a home in the repj. sense of the word.
