THE G/XAX NEWS July 19, 1956 PAGE 7 OPEN FOR INSPECTION! 1 1/3 miles from town on Franklin Road (Rt. 64) SERIES OF PARTIES The second in 0. series of Bridge find Smnba parties for the benefit of the Hud son Librciry is being held tonight at the home of Mrs* Lydr, Harcombe on Mrror LoJco# The first party, held a week ago, was Q great success* Seven tables were filled (which is all the available space will accomodate), everybody had a good time, and the Library benefited accordingly. The Bridge prize, a delicious angel cake made and presented by Mrs* Russell White, was won by Mrs# John Perry* The Samba prize, an equally delicious caramel nut cake,made and donated by i'Irs. Stella Caziarc, was won by Mrs* Harcombe, who insisted on cutting it and sharing it with some of the non-prize winners* The last hand of the evening was played as a Bingo game, and Mrs* Thomas "lyson won the prize—an attrac tive package of guest towels donated by the Blue Moon. Punch was served during the evening. If you would like to play at future Thursday evening parties, get in touch with Mrs. Harcombe or telephone Miss Helen Augur (2075). Each player contributes $1*00 to the Hudson Library. Single play ers are very welcome, but if you want to be sure to be playing with others of your own bridge or Samba calibre, it is wise to make up your own table —and, of course, much easier for your hostess in planning the party. HOIffi DESTROYED BY FIRE The Highlands Fire Department ans wered a call on Tuesday afternoon of this week to a fire at the home of Robert Langdon on Broadway Gap. By the time the time the alarm was turned in and the fire truck arrived at the scene the house had been completely destroyed by the fire. BAZAAR Saturday, July 28, is the day set for the bazaar which is for the benefit of the Highl(inds Community Hospital. The proceeds are to be used toward equipping^ et cetera, the hospital kitchen. The sale will be in the Masonic building next to the Methodist Church, and the hours are 9 a«m. to 10 p»m. SILVER TEA The annual Episcopal Silver Tea will be held on Thursday, July 19, at the home of Mr* and Mrs* Fred S. Gould, Country Club Estates, from 4 P»ei* to 6 p.m* You are cordially invited to attend the tea# HILLBILLY DAY Circle August 1 on your calendar as HILLBILLY DAY.
