Of all the birds which come to us
for the s\SQmer the Ruby-throated Humming
birds seem to create the greatest pleasure^
This is Understandable, because there are
so many surprising things to be leaamed
about them and they oan be so easily ai>*
tracted near our homes where we oan watch
their fascinating ways*
^immingbirds are our smallest feather
ed creatures* Of the five hundred to six
hundred species, all in the Americas and
nowhere else in the world, the Ruby-tiuroat-
ed is the only one which comes to Eastern
United States# He is neither the smallest
nor the largest, but from the tip of his
bill to the tip of his tail he measures
about three and one half inches and he

MUSIC FESTIVAL
Mrs, Murdock Equen, Chairman of the
Highlands Music Festival said on Wednes
day morning* "To sum up my immediate re
action to the first Highlands Community
Music Festival, I would like to say that
it was a brilliant success. Everybody
worked to put it over and I believe I am
truthful when I say everybody had a good
time doing so* After all it was a Festi
val in all the Implies and meant to be
fun. I got a terrific thrill out of
seeing the capacity audiences at all
three concerts, Here's looking to next
