varied interests, such as the Hospital,

It has been announced by Mrt Lester
Dawley, Chairman of the Hospital Fund
Drive, that forty-three per cent of the
goal in the Drive has been reached.
The goal is $30,000*00* For operating
expenses June 1959 - Jxine I960, |15,000.00
is needed, and for improvements to build
ing and equipment, |lL5,000*00 is needed.
Please help us reach our goal in the

ROTARY MEETING
Forty local members and visiting
Rotarians enjoyed a most interesting talk
by Mr* Fred Allen at the regular Rotary
meeting Tuesday night* Mr* Allen's talk
was about the Highlands Community Theatre
and its history frim its start in 1939
to the present date*
Mr* Richard Harrison and Mr* Bill
McCall were the two local Rotarians
written up in this weeks Rotary Bulletin*
Rotary meets each Tuesday at 7*00

The sixth annual Garden Tours, spon
sored by the Highlands Garden Club, will
be on liiday, August 7th and on Saturday,
August 8th* Ihere will be eight houses
on the tours, four on Toxir A which will
leave from in front of the Methodist
Church from lOtOO to 10*30 both mornings
and four others on Tour B which will
leave frcM in front of the Methodist
Church from 2:00 to 2*30 both afternoons*
Tickets are #2.00 per tour*

Miss Linda Prances Watson, daughter
of Mr* and Mrs* Walter L* Watson of ELghf
lands and Mr* Thomas Eugene Ginn, son of
Mr* and Mrs* Allen H. Ginn were married
at the Highlands Methodist Church on
Saturday evening, July 18, with the Rev*
Milford Thumm, pastor of the Cullowhee
Methodist Church, officiating at the
double ring ceremony.
The church was beautifully and simp
ly decorated with native wild flowers and
ferns and Shasta daisies were used in two
large white baskets on either side of the
alter* Lighted candleabra were also used*
