Burnette of High lands announce the engagement of their daughter, Jan, to Harce Dean Cornelius, son of Mr. and Mrs, Claude L* Cornelius of East Bend, N.C* The wedding will take place on Sat urday, August 29th, at the First Baptist Church of Highlands. HOSPITAL BAZAAR JULY 24-25 The quilts for the Hospital Bazaar, July 2^-25, have been placed in the vdn- dow of the Cobb Building on dispj.ay for anyone to view. They are very beautiful quilts and represent much hard work* There is a double-bed size quilt done by the Shortoff Community and the twin bed size quilts ^ere made by the Home Demon stration Club* The double-bed size quilt is made in the Red Tulip pattern and the twin size quilts are made in the Dutch Doll pattern* The Garden Club has the space at the entrance of the Cobb Building where they will have flowers and dried arrangements. They will also have garden hats, gloves, and other accessories. On July 23 there will be a dinner sponsored by the women of the Highlands Methodist Church as a kick-off to the Bazaar* This dinner will be held the evening before the Bazaar in the basement of the Methodist Church* A TALK ON ALASKA In the Highlands Methodist Church next Sunday evening, July 19> at 8:00 o*clock, John F. Gordon will share his experiences in Alaska with us through Slides, a lecture, and a question period* The commimity is invited* Come and en joy this treat with us* IfETHOriST FELLOWSHIPS GO TO WAYAH BALD This Friday, July 17, the Cashiers MYF group will go on an overnight camp ing and spiritual retreat to Wayah Bald* They will leave from the chiorch at 3*00 o*clock, with counselors and the Duke student, Doug Gilbert and the pastor in charge.
