"633 SQUADRON"
It was late in the course of World War
II, when the German high command finally
realized that they were not going to win
the war unless something drastic was done.
The bombing of London, while spectac
ular, and even moderately effective, was
not going to do it*
What, the high command asked itself,
would do itj
Bigger and better buzz bombs with
super-powered rockets to carry them—and
thus began Germany*s plan to launch super
powered rockets from every land she con
trolled, And the place to begin was dis
tant Norway, where rocket sites could be
hidden in the narrow fjords, shielded from
prying eyes and aerial attack by towering
narrow mountains.
The greatest secrecy surrounded the
enterprise, but news of it leaked out.
And England countered—with its famous
squadrons of "Mosquito" planes, the "wooden
wonders" which actually got into the narrow
fjords, bombed and got out of them again.
How it was all done is dramatically
told in the color presentation of "633
Squadron" which plays at the GALAX THEATRE
on Saturday, June 12.
Starring in the film are Cliff Robert
son, George Chakiris, Maria Perschy, Harry
Andrews and Donald Houston, with the famous
"Mosquito" planes featured.
