REV. AND MRS. PINNIX TO TEACH
Rev* and Mrs, L* C, Pinnix will be
teaching at the Fruitland Baptist Assembly
at Fruitland, N, C,, on Monday through
Saturday of next week. Mr. Pinnix will
conduct a personal interest conference for
Juniors and will be in charge of the music.
Mrs. Pinnix will be teaching a course in
Junior Methods for Training Union and will
be playing the piano for the Assembly.
On Monday, five Juniors who have al
ready been winners in the associational
and regional tournaments will go to Fruit
land to compete in the State Memory-Work
Tournament. Those participating in the
tournament are Eddie Lee and Susan Whit
mire, Sandra Vinson, Sherry Reese, and
Joan Crane.
BAPTISMAL SERVICE
Sunday night a baptismal service was
held following the evening worship service*
Those baptised were Shelia Chastain, Joan
Crane, Sandra Vinson, Carol Osment, Judy
Crisp, Patty Calloway, and Tommy Billingsley,
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
The Baptist Youth Fellowship met Sun
day night at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Pinnix.
The meetings are held the first Sunday of
every month, and all Juniors and Intermed
iates are invited to attend.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Bible School has been postponed, pos
sibly until August,
UBRARY HOURS
Beginning Monday, June l^th, the
Hudson Library will resume its regular
suiraner schedule, opening Monday through
Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.—
2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This schedule
will continue through September 15th.
The Library will be closed Monday, July
5th, and on the afternoon of Labor Day.

A son, Brian Willard, was born to
Mr, and Mrs. Everett Miller, of Scaly
Mt., N. C., last Thursday, June 3rd.
The baby weighed eight pounds and one
ounce,
Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Keener became
the parents of a baby boy, Timothy
Howard, on Sunday, June 6th, He weighed
seven pounds and fifteen ounces.
