MEMBERSHIP OF HUDSON LIBRARY TO MEET AUGUST 30TH A meeting of the membership of the Hudson Library will be held at the Li brary on Monday, August 30th, The pur pose of the meeting is to elect new of ficers and trustees for the coming year. The present schedule of opening hours at the Library will remain the same through September 15th; ten to one o*clock and two to five o’clock Monday through Satur day. The Library will be closed on the afternoon of Labor Day (September 6th)* jay. Very little is known about him, but his grave is near the bank of the Cullasaja River and has and is an object of great interest to all "trtio see it. His body was brought across the riv er and buried by his fellow soldiers, who hid his grave in order to prevent the Indians from taking his scalp. About I895 a stone was placed at Corporal White’s grave by the residents of Macon County. For many years the old Ledford Field was covered with piles of stones where the Indians had placed them over their dead.
