Haygood, of Apopka, Fla,, are spending several days in the Wambole home on Broadway Gap, Turtle Pond Road, Mrs, Kitty Stewart, of Apopka, Fla., is visiting Mr, and Mrs, Frank Healy for several days, Mr, and Mrs, Jack Roberts and family have returned home to Jacksonville, Fla,, after spending several weeks with Mr, Rob ert* s mother, Mrs, Esther Roberts, at her home at Broadway Gap on the Turtle Pond Road, Mr, and Mrs, Richard McShane and three children recently returned to Bal timore, Md,, after spending some time with Mrs, McShane*s parents, Mr, and Mrs, Wins ton P, Ayres, at their home here, Mr, and Mrs, Guyte P, McCord, of Tallahassee, Fla,, are spending the months of August and September at their summer _ cottage in Horse Cove, Expected week end guests of Mrs, George Foster at her home in Horse Cove are Mrs, E, W, Andrew and Mrs, Marian Candler, both of Atlanta, Ga, Mr, and Mrs, Henry Castleberry and son, David, of Charleston, S, C,, were the recent guests of Mr, and Mrs, Bruce Lynch at their home in Horse Cove, "UP FROM THE BEACH" The adventures of two American sol diers during the 36 hours following the D-Day landing form the thematic basis for ”Up From The Beach," which plays at the GALAX THEATRE on Tuesday and Wednes day, Aug 31-Sept 1« Adapted from George Barr*s novel, "Epitaph For An Enemy," the production stars Cliff Robertson and Red Buttons as American infantrymen who are assigned the task of leading 23 French civilians to safety from falling artillery shells, Irina Demick co-stars as a member of the French resistance. Also starring are Slim Pickens as a colonel in the Artillery, Broderick Crawford as a gruff M, P. Major, James Robertson and Marius Goring, The two American GI*s find the events of the momentous day challenging their hearts and minds in startlingly unexpected ways. Trained as combat sol diers, taught to believe they would be welcomed as liberators and indoctrinated to hate Germans, they suddenly find them selves perplexed as they shuttle across the battlefield with the French civil ians whom they are assigned to escort.
