I ! Follow John Day Signs W. T. Clearman, Jr., of Cocoa Beach, Fla. reported the incident by letter to U. S. Forest Service officials with the re quest that the area be adequately signed before some tragedy occurs. Glenn Palls is a beautiful national forest scenic area located off the Dil lard Road about five miles southwest of Highlands. The same rugged cliffs and tumbling waterfalls which provide the area’s unique beauty also present a dangerous situation, especially for chil dren unless accompanied by adults. High land District Ranger Bob Padgett, recog nizing the possible natural dangers of the waterfall area, erected new direction al trail and warning signs throughout the area of Glenn Falls last October. "Mrs. Clearman*s letter was the first notice that the signs had been vandal ized", stated Padgett, "and we are im mediately replacing the missing signs". This incident is an example that great personal danger is often caused by sign vandals as well as costing the taxpayer thousands of dollars each year. Respon sible citizens should be on the lookout for vandals at work and promptly report these individuals to local authorities so they may be forced to pay for their fee bleminded form of entertainment.
