One hundred thir- ty-four campers of this co-educational camp, located atop little Scaly Mountain outside Highlands, all participated by riding. In addition to these boys and girls, almost all the members of the staff and administration took their turn astride one of the fifteen horses in the shoRr, The horse show opened with a pro cession led by the official judges, Rod ney Harper and Wallace Wilkins, and fol lowed by representatives of the staff of Camp Highlander on horseback# After pre sentation of colors, a series of twenty- five classes of riding commenced. Each class consisted of six competing campers matched against fellow campers of equal experience and ability. These classes included Western horsemanship, bare back riding, English equitation, and contests, such as potato races.(CON*T ON PAGE 18) HOT SUPPORTS HOSPITAL; WILL DONATE PART OF BOX OFFICE INCOME The Highlands Community Theatre announced Monday that one-ha If of the box office proceeds for the Sunday matinee (July 23rd) for the production of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, will be donated to the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital Fund Drive in an attempt to help that group make up the deficit in their budget financing. The Board of Directors of HCT feels that each of these activities is depen dent upon community support, and since both of them come under the heading of non-profit organizations, the only way HCT can help the Rind Drive is to donate part of its box office income. The theatre has inaugurated the matinee performances at 2?30 every Sun day during the production runs for this season, to see if there is adequate in terest in the daytime performance to warrant continuing the practice. The opening show brought out many people for this special matinee, and it is felt by HCT that the driving conditions in and around Highlands make it necessary for visitors in the area to use the roads in daylight hours. Ifr. A. S. Happoldt expressed his gratitude to HCT for this gesture on their part in community support. Reservations may be made thiKiugh the theatre box office, 526-269^ or at the HCT ticket stand at Potts Market.
