T01^I^:SE1\!JJ, SEASTRUNK, GLUm, HOLBOM HAVE WINNING ENTRIES IN FLOWER SHOW "Good show," was the consensus of opinion voiced by the hundreds of visi tors who viewed the Flower Show held on July 20th, at the Cashiers Comnunity Center, l^rs. Edmund Cluett, president of the Garden Club, coinmented that the success of the show was due to the hard work of the committee chairmen and their helpers and to the enthusiastic cooper ation of many friends, not garden club members, in both Cashiers and Highlands. The auditorium of the Community Center provided a spacious area for the display of exhibits. The stage at one end was transformed into a beautiful mountain picture. In the background, a mural of Ifhiteside Mountain, painted by Hrs. Frank Hodgkinson, dominated a woodland scene designed by Mrs. Ben Wil liams. Buddy Clark and his crew, of Cash iers, provided and set the beautiful pines rhododendron, mossy logs and rocks. The Lantana Flower Siop of Highlands loaned the waterfall purling in one corner. Centered on the floor of the auditorium was a garden, fenced with decorative ce ment block furnished by Tobe Clark of Cashiers. A lovely stone fountain in side was loaned by Mr. and Jfrs. E. H. Strubbe of High Hampton. More of Clark*s evergreens backed the fountain and colorful potted plants topped the fence. (CWHTINOED ON PAGE IWENTr-OHE)
