BRUCE TO SPEAK AT MUSEUM
Dr. Richard C, Eruce, Associate
Pt*ofessor of Biology at ¥estern Carolina
University, will speak on "Salamanders
of the Southern Blue Hidge" at the Nat
ural History Museum on Thursday, July
11, at 8:00 p.m.
Dr. Bruce, a graduate of Tufts
University, holds a M.A. and Ph.D. from
Duke University, He is currently engaged
in research on the ecology of salamanders
at the Highlands Biological Station.
FRIENDSHIP TABERNACLE SERVICES
Revival services will be held at
the Friendship Tabernacle July lit - 20,
at 7s30 p.m. The tabernacle is located
at Depot and Wayah Streets in Franklin,
and the services are sponsored by all
of the churches of I^con County.
Dr. Denman, founder of the Inter
national Prayer Fellowship, and Reverend
Efyess, an evangelist and author, will
organize and lead the services.
Community lunches will be served
at twelve noon on MDnday at the Carson
Community Building, Tuesday at the Beth
el Methodist Chiorch, Wednesday at the
Franklin Methodist Church, Thursday at
the Asbury Methodist Church, Friday at
the Snow Hill Ifethodist Church.

BAPTIST NEWS
Reverend Harvey Stewart extends a
special invitation to all young people
to meet immediately after the service
Sunday evening for a fellowship hour in
the Recreation Hall. As a pastor, he
wants to get acquainted with the young
people as soon as possible and he feels
that Youth Fellowship is the best possi
ble way to do this. All young people
are invited to attend and bring others
along.
On Thursday evening, July l8th,
there will be a hamburger cookout at
the parsonage for all ¥. M. U. members.
The cookout, which will begin at 6s30,
will be followed by the business meeting
and program.
