MISS GLASCOCK IS BRIDE OF STEVE MEHDER Miss Delaine Glascock of States ville Road, Mocksville, Worth Carolina, became the bride of IVic. Stephen Prescott Mehder of Highlands, North Carolina at 7:00 p,m, June lijth, in the First Baptist Church in Mocksville, The Rev. Charles E, Bullock officiated. The bride is the daughter of iVir. and Mrs. Clyde Glascock* She attended Lenoir Rhyne College where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was "Miss Mocksville" for 1966-1967, Her husband is the son of 14*, and >5rs. Clyde Mehder of Highlands, He is a graduate of Western Carolina University and is presently attending the School of Law, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a goxm of white silk organza over satin. The gown was styled with an organza "A" line cage over a fitted satin slip with a panel of alen- con lace down the front and around the hemline. It had a lace edged scoop neckline and short lace sleeves. Her organza chapel-length train was appliqued with alencon lace motifs and fell from the scooped neckline. The elbow-length silk illusion veil fell from a cluster of alencon lace petals with seed pearl trim. She carried a cascade of spring flowers centered with a yellow throated orchid. Hall is a 1962 graduate in Drama of Carnegie Tech. The first Vice-President of Florida Theatre Conference, he has been director of Ocala Little Theatre, Ocala, Florida, This past year he directed at the Daytona Playhouse, in addition to his five shows in Ocala. Hall announced to the Board of Directors that Frank Bennett, who has visited Highlands summers before, T^jill be the set designer this season. l-^ayre Brent will work on the staff as Public Relations Minager and professional actress along with Jack Blatt, actor5 Pfery Ferguson, Costume Mistress; Debby Russell, Box Office and Script Girl; Sally Kline, Prop Mstress, and Gary Cheatham, Stage Manager and Crew Head. ]yjr. Hall submitted the following schedule of plays for approval by the Board: "Only An Orphan Girl", ’’The Importance of Being Earnest", "The Curious Savage", and "See Hor-f They Run", With this summer season, the Highlands Community Theatre will cele brate its thirtieth anniversary, pro viding Highlands with interesting and enjoyable recreation to both viexfers and participants.
