IJilliams, Jr. is not only a stand out singer and condoser of western-and- country ballads (he x-jrote four of the eight songs he performs in his initial movie), he also has an appealing person ality and an undeniable acting talent, as evidenced in his persuasive portrayal of Grady Dodd, a young tobacco farmer whom circumstances precipitate into a career as a night club singer and record ing star. Shelly Fabares and Academy Award winner Ed Begley offer important contri butions to the story of ”A lime to Sing." Miss Fabares is seen as Amy Carter, a gas station grease monkey, whose inauspicious first encounter with Dodd, when her truck drives his car off the road, blossoms in to romance. The veteran Begley has a strong dramatic role as Dodd's Uncle Ker- mit x^hose love for his farm is only equal led by his hatred of music and musicians. "A Time to Sing" plays at the GALiI THE/ITRE on Saturday, July 12th. You won't want to miss it! UJi-iU, V..Y VA PAINTINGS G RL LERY PRINTS _ CERAMICS Highlands,. N^.C^
