Mildred Talley Barnes, 27, of Route Franklin, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Macon County. Surviving are the husband, Gordon Barnes5 a sister, I'irs. Johnny L, Moore of Franklini the parents, and Ifrs, Harvey Talley of Highlands; and the maternal grandmothers, ]ya:*s. Agnes Talley and ySrs, Frank Rogers, both of Satolah, Georgia, Services were held at 3 p.m, Tues day in Highlands First Baptist Church. The Rev. Harvey Stei-iart and the Rev. Oliver Rice officiated. Burial was in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers xirere JimuQr Talley, Marion Oxford, Neville and Morris Wil son, Hilliard Houston and Toimy Rogers. HIGHLANDS-GASHIERS GARDEN CLUB SPONSORS ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW The Highlands-Cashiers Garden Club will present its annual Flower Show, "High Hills and Valleys Low", Thursday, July 17th, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cashiers Community Center. Admis sion is free, and all non-Garden Club members are invited to participate also. General Chairman of the event is Mrs. Edmund Cluett of Cashiers. J&'s. William McKee is Co-Chairman. Entries Chairman for the Highlands area is i^s. Tom Allen. Anyone interested should call her at 526-26^3^ or Mrs. Harry Long at 526-3167. The club feels very fortunate to have ISrs. Donald Hastings, of Atlanta, Ga., who will conduct a workshop at the Community Center on July li^th, be ginning at 10 a.m. Mrs. Hastings is one of the most noted flower arrangers in the country. Those planning to attend the xfork- shop should bring their ox'/n flowers, containers, and other materials, and a sandi'7ich for lunch. Coffee will be furnished.
