Conlon, 79, a pioneer Hollywood developer who died Saturday, July in Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Wadlington Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Waardenburg and J. O’Dell Miller officiating. Conlon was the founder of the Chapel in 19^0. I'fr • Conlon came to Hollj^wood in 1926 a^ became involved in real estate acti vities which led to the growth of Holly wood. He was founder and first president of the HLami Camp of Gideons Ihternation- president of the Hollytfood Board of Realtors, director of the Hollywood Bank and Trust Co., director of the Florida Gospel Pioneers and a member of the Chris tian Business Men’s Committee Internation al, He played an important role in bring ing Riverside I^aiitary Academy to Holly wood, was responsible for design of the enlarged parking area on Young Circle, plus many public parkways which he dona ted to the city. Mr. Conlon spent the summers in Highlands for 25 years, first having a home in Horse Cove, and later moving to Little Bear Pen Mountain. A solo, "ilfter,” was sung by Ifrs. G. T. Wiley at the Iforse Cove Church Sunday evening and was dedicated to the PAGE 2 memory of iy&7. Conlon. He will be missed by his many friends in Highlands. He is survived by his wife, l^feriei two sons, lyndon C. and Prank C., both of Hollyxiroodi a stepson, Paul Dancker of New Jerseys eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, Arthur of Yorkj three half brothers, Thomas, Samuel and F^ul| a sister, Mrs. Frank Stearns of >H.ami, and a half-sister, Mss E. Leslie Conlon.
