The fol- loT'iring>-is a brief description of the subject by Dr. Blairs "Agronomists have established that compounds of elements such as iron, cop per, magnesium, zinc, boron, molybdenum, sulfur, and manganese must be available to plants for healthy grox-jth and devel opment. These are required in minor amounts as compared with compounds of nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, and with the major requirements of water and carbon dioxide. The agronomists have also established both the upper and lower limiting concentrations of these minor nutrients, varying with the plant and with the soil. In most cases, too much of one of these minor nutrients is toxic to the plant.
