THE GAL4X I«S JULY 31, 1969 PiGE 2 Mary Norton Coordinates Hiss Universe Fashion Show Mrs, Arnold A. Ross (l^ary Norton) has Just returned to Highlands from co ordinating the I^Lss Universe Jkshion Show at the Fontainebleau Hotel, Miaini Beach, Plorida, July lUth. Among the nineteen models at the MLss Universe Fashion Show were Mss Finland, first runner-up in the finals held at the M-ami Beach Auditorium, July 19, and J^iLss Australia, second runner-up. Among the semi-finalists, appear ing in the Fashion Show were Miss U,S,A,, lass Norway and Hiss CoJombia. The then reigning l^liss Universe of 1968, who, as Miss Brazil, won last year*s title, also modeled in the Fashion Show. In addition there wsre lyELss Uni verse of 1962, Miss Universe of 196?, Miss U. S. A. of 1965 and MLss Hospital ity, who is presently attending the Un iversity of 1'H.ami. Outstanding, among the other con testant models in the Fashion Show, were Miss Venezuela, MLss Holland, Miss Argentina, Mss England, Mss Sweden, Miss Iceland, Mss Jamaica and MLss Italy. The beautiful contestants modeled fascinating styles from raincoats and all-weather coats with matching umbrel las to beautiful long evening gowns• The MLss Universe Show xms attended by over a thousand persons and was for the benefit of the Woman's Cancer Asso ciation of the University of I^a.ami. Allen-Hughs Marriage Mrs. Edith L. Allen and I'^b. Carle- ton N. Hughs were married on July 28, 1969, at the Church of the Incarnation in Highlands with the Reverend Ihomas ¥. Sumners, Houston, Texas, and the Reverend Gale D. ¥ebbe performing the ceremony. The guests included The Reverend and Ifrs. Thomas ¥. Sumners, and lirs. Harry Duckett, Ifc. and l^s. George N. Allen, Jr., and l^Irs. Leavens Allen, Mrs. Sydnor Oden, l^SLss Qma Lee Brumley, Mr. and ]\irs. I'fe.lco3jn Baker, all of Houston. The guests from Atlanta who attended weres tirs. Ernest Allen, and iy&:*s. William 0‘Kelley, 14*. and Iyo*s, Dan Allen. and I4*s. Hughs will reside in Houston, Texas. Mr. Hughs is the son of l-a^s. Robert N.
