HOSPITAL BRIEFS
The announcement of the Annual
meeting of the Board of Trustees of the
Highlands-Cashiers Hospital as an open
meeting to the public has been published
in this paper last week and again this
week# It is a very important meeting and
all who are interested in the Hospital
are invited to attend* It will be held
at the Highlands School Auditorium on
Thursday evening August 21^ 1970 at 8
o'clock p.m. llr* William F, Henderson,
Executive Secretary of the North Carolina
Medical Care Commission is the featured
speaker and is well qualified to speak
to audiences about hospitals and their
operations. It is hoped a large group
will attend the meeting and hear him
speak*
It was hoped at this time to have
the official word of APPROVAL for Medi
care participation so that it might be
published. The unofficial word is that
AFTER SHOW STARTS
Nights 600 d $1^50
Your Hospital will be approved without
the 60 day waiting period. Until the
actual official word is in hand,'announce
ment of any kind is out of order, but
there is a feeling of optimism prevail
ing and just as soon as the official
word comes, it will be heralded as far
as possible throughout the area.
Census is slowly but surely rising
in Tour Hospital and once again the
nursing group is busy attending the needs
of patients. This is a good sign and
one we believe will continue. Your
Hospital is certainly professionally well
set up now to care for patients with
registered nurses, two graduate nurses
and the other ancillary nursing workers
to provide the kind of care necessaiy
for sick and injured patients. Dr. Jfengmn
is trying very hard to maintain the ser
vice to these sick people and has suc
ceeded very well in covering the maiiy
calls that come in for him.
