At an age and stage when many yo\mg
actresses are most concerned with flat
tering make-up and lighting and exhibit
ing their best profile^ Liza Minnelli is
portraying a girl whose face is perma
nently disfigured with acid by a maniacal
boyfriend in "Tell i% That You Love lyfe,
Junie Moon," an Otto Preminger film open
ing Wed-Thur Sept 8-9 at the Galax Theatre*
Junie Moon goes through an ordeal
in the Paramount releasej sudden trans
formation from a carefree and fun-loving
girl to a handicapped person, faced with
a rigorous emotional and physical rehab
ilitation.
But the film does not dwell on the
tragic aspects of Junie Moon. It focuses
instead on the attempt of Junie Moon aid
two other former patients to make it on
their own without medical or financial
assistance.

For me, the valley here is peopled
with a million prec.ious memories.
Memories of rabbit-hunting with Uncle
John and Uncle Jake. Aunt ffinnie
baking yeast-bread. Uncle Will making
brooms. Aunt Lou reading the Bible by
the open fire.
Memories of the dusty sweetness of
the hay barn. And the earthiness of
Uncle ¥ill*s root cellar, with mingled
odors of potatoes and turnips and onions.
They all come back when autumn is
upon the land.
They are memories of things knoTm
but gene,

and blacksmith shop and cornmill.
Or Grandpa*s sled and mule and
Grandma’s battling block and lye hopper
that stood out in the back yard.
But when the wind of autumn goes
skirling down the river-road there are
echoes of the past,
Tlie mill-race runs again, a wheel
goes roimd.
An old man with a face like a frost
bitten tdjiesap hovers over a cider mill.
They all come back at this season
of the year*
For autumn is a time of remembering.
