Weightlifting Club
Is Formed At ACC
A weightlifting club, thought to
be the first of its kind in any
North Carolina College, has been
formed at ACC.
President Hal Gibbs said a few
others and himself were lifting
weights on campus last year. So
many wanted to participate, he
said, that a club was formed.
Officers of the new club are
Gibbs, president: George Gorritz,
vice - president: and Kenneth
Stallings, secretary - treasurer.
“We have weightlifters, body
builders, and those who are just
trying to gain or lose weight in
the club,” Gibbs said.
“Because of limited resources
expansion is going to be tempor
arily restricted. But we hope to
remedy this as soon as possible,”
he added.
A membership fe« of $5, which
covers the expense of equipment,
qualifies anyone for membership.
TTie club is open to any student
or faculty member at the CoUege.
Next scheduled meeting of the
new club is next Wednesday at 8
p. m. in room 109 of the Classroom
Building.
