Omega Chi Sorority
As a part of the Homecoming
activities. Omega Chi held a ban
quet with Sigma Phi Epsilon Satur
day evening. Scholarship awards
were presented at the dinner to
sisters Carolyn Sharpe and George-
Anne Willard and to pledge Ann
lliompson. Ann, a freshman from
Kinston, also won the first runner-
up position in the Homecoming
Queen contest.
On Sunday afternoon, the sorority
honored parents of sisters and
pledges at a coffee hour. At that
time, Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson
were presented with a gift in ap-

ident. Oden is from Washington,
North Carolina, where he was ac
tive in student activities in high
school. He is married to the for
mer Maloye Richardson, and they
have an infant daughter.
During his four years at Atlantic
Chri.stian, Oden has also been ac
tive in student affairs. He has
served as vice-president of the Men’s
Dormitory Association, vice - presi
dent of the Freshman class, sena
tor of the Junior class, and a mem
ber of the CO-operative Association
Social Committee and of the ACC
Chorus.
Oden is a Religion Education ma
jor and hopes to continue his educa
tion at Brite Divinity School of Tex
as Christian University in Fort

of Johnson’s abilities to assume the
duties of the Presidency in a time
of groat crisis. Johnson “is not as
versed in foreign affairs as in
other areas” said Pearson. He feels,
nevertheless, that the President has
great ideals, ideas and hopes for
winning the peace of the world.
The success of the Johnson Admin
istration will depend upon its ability
to manitain coexistence with the
Communist World.
In 1960 Pearson interviewed Soviet
Premier Khrushchev at his summer
home on the Black Sea. Discussing
a variety of topics Khrushchev indi
cated the true nature of the Sino-
Soviet split. At a second meeting
last summer the Soviet leader said
that he was going to cut defense
spending whether the United States
did so or not.
Worth, Texas. Upon graduation
from seminary, Oden plans to serve
the Christian (Disciples of Christ)
churches as a Minister of Youth.
In his interveiw, Oden stated that
he strongly believes a person should
be individualistic by nature. He said
that he personally could not be a
college student five days a week,
and only a minister of youth for
the remaining two. He concluded by
saying he felt this to be of major
importance in a person’s life.

The Homecoming festivities were
held mainly at the Ship ’n Shore
Restaurant. The Brothers of Sig
Ep and the Sisters of Omega Chi
were the host and hostess to their
alumni. Various scholarship awards
were presented to: Bobby Raiford
Woody Caton, Robert Jones, John
Benson, Rex Horne, and John Clem-
mer, a pledge of Sig Ep.
Various alumni were present for
the banquet. Those present were:
Sammy White, Dale Williamson
Russell Carter, Tommy Willis, Tom
my Moore, W. H. Quinton, Doug
Spivey, John Cox, Ben McKeel,
Ed Mercer, Hatten Hodges, and
Jimmy Johnston.

Nash Street was decorated with the
award for the best display for the
Fraternity Division of the Home
coming Activities. Miss Ann
Thompson, of Kinston, N. C., was
first runner up for the “Homecom
ing Queen of 1964.”
