With the first weelc and two
,ys of the intramural flag foot-
ill over, it looks like
e team to beat is Sigma Phi
psilon. The Sig Eps have rolled
three consecutive victories,
id at the time of this writing
ere unscored on.
Quarterback Gary McMahon is
e sparkplug of the Sig Ep of-
nsive unit and he 'has a host of
[cellent receivers to throw to.
Dick Swanker, Nick “Chico”
ttani and Bill Hackett have
,en making things miserable for
eir opposition with some spec-
cular pass receptions. Their of-
nsive unit has averaged 23
lints per game and, unless
meone finds the key to their
tack, could very well go un
seated.
Delta Sigma Phi, Sigma Pi and
pha Sigma Phi have all made
cellent showings on defense,
it none of the three has had
ly offensive punch to date. Sig-
a Pi is the only other team,
sides the Sig Eps, that hasn’t
ven up a point.

fined to quarters from seven
until 10 p.m. with no break
whatsoever, under penalty of a
“call-over.” Miss Seamstress ad
vises that the students who re
ceive their third “call-over”
will be presented to a board of
inquiry concerning her misbe
havior. The board wiU be com
posed of Miss Seamstress, the
Dean of Transpo.rtation, and a
member of the campus police,
who decide the fate of the vic
tim.
Miss Seamstress also re
marked that all candles will be,
without fail, snuffed out at 11
p.m. At that time, she will an
nounce on her megaphone that
the light bell has just rung (in
some institutions there are
people who constantly hear little
bells and the girls at the lannex
will also have to have a vivid
imagination).
The ringing of the imaginary
light bell will be foltowed by the
girl’s silent prayer; "Now I lay
me down to sleep, I pray the
Lord my sould to ke^; If we
all should die before we wake,
I pray the Devil Liza’s soul to
take. “Who’s afraid of liza

drills
this week. Coach Ira Norfolk
seemed pleased with the initial
workouts and was encouraged by
the spirit of his squad.
It is a valuable asset to any
team to be able to begin drills
with most of the returning can
didates already “in shape” and
raring to go. A lot of time is
saved on conditioning drills, and
this valuable time can be spent
on other aspects of the game
such as passing, shooting, drib
bling and team work.
With homecoming just around
the comer. Coach Norfolk wiU
be driving his troops hard to
get them physically and men
tally ready to face what will
probably be one of the most
demanding schedules this school
has ever faced.
Next week we will take an in-
depth look at some of the Bull
dogs, and try to get their opin
ions on the upcoming season.
