Serenading President
Atlantic Christian College is blessed with both an
efficient Entertainment Committee and Concert and
Lecture Committee which provide her students with a
wide spectrum of musical talent. Although few attend
the majority of concerts, those who do attend certainly
enjoy themselves. The institution's students, however,
were treated to a rare moment of classical talent Tues
day when they were serenaded, not by a college chorus
or choir, but by their student government president, Byron
Wyndhom.
Now Mr. Wyndham may be a good student body
president skilled in the art of parlaimentary proceedure
and convocation leadership (after all, he knew there
were more aye's than nay's when we could not distinguish
between their numbers)—but a singer, he is not.
Nevertheless, let it be said that the student body
must hove enjoyed his performance for few joined in
singing the "pep" song to help drown out his voice. Con
sequently, our wrath is not bent on our nightingale presi
dent, but on the students who apparently care nothing
of school spirit. Perhaps, had Campbell College followed
our example last year, the great "insult" incident would
not have taken place.
Throughout our collegiate life, we hove surmized
that it cannot be said that the ACC student body is going
to the dogs. We don't go to them during home games
and we don't attend their "away" battles. Of the num
ber who do attend home gomes, only a minority seem
to get anywhere near enthusiastic and even a smaller
number really come out and cheer the Bulldogs on. And
when some do cheer loudly, they are often labled as
drunkards.
We are constantly hearing students complain that
only if ACC hod a football team, there would be bounti
ful enthusiasm for our intercollegiate athletic program.
We are among those who enjoy football more than basket
ball, but we also feel that the Bulldog Five is our team
and we should enthusiasticly support it.
Perhaps, one day in the future our student govern
ment president will not have to solo through severol per
formances of the some pep song—we sincerely hope so
for the sake of those ears which will follow us on our
campus.
Election Crisis
A crisis struck our student government Tuesday
when for some reason the ballots from the cheerleader
elections were cost into what we have been informd ap
peared to be o wastebasket. Of course this action occured
only after the ballots were counted.
According to the "Student Handbook: Atlantic Chris
tian College," which we have on our desk, a candidate
in on election has the right to challenge the results of
that election in which he was participating within three
doys after the election results are announced. It seems
only proper, therefore, that the ballots should be kept
for at least the duration of that period.
This provision is housed in Section Five, "Elections,"
which is included in Article One, "Officers of the Cooper
ative Association," in the "By-Laws of Student Govern
ment Association of Atlantic Christian College."
Some might argue that this section deals only with
the officers of the Executive Board; yet, it is found under
an orticle which indentifies its concern as that of the
officers of the Cooperative Association. And it should
be noted that the cheerleaders ore a budgetary organiza
tion of the Student Government Association. (Article
Three, Section Two)
It would seem that the Eelections Committee, a stand
ing committee of the Executive Board, should hove the
responsibility of counting ond preserving the boJIots of
each election.
If this procedure were followed, a future crisis might
be avoided; and the Elections Committee would have the
ballots to present in the event a contestation were mode
of a particular election. Our constitution creates a com-
mittrp to Heol with elections—it should be used towards
on efficient end.

Bookworm Crawlings
By WIGGLEK
Wiggler has lost himself in the
bliss of love. Wiggler has lost

Wiggler this week was indeed
honored to interview Charlie

of Peanuts fame. These acclaim

campus bookstore in preparation
for the upcoming lecture of Rob

is interesting to note some of
their observations. It seems that
they are most startled by the
wide and varied range of in
tellectual curiosities found in
browsing in the campus book
store. Vivacious Bookworm has
toiled many hours to select
reading interest common to all
ACC students. Wiggler was about
to wade into a description of
these individuals and the mate
rial available to them but he
leaves this up to those propa

bookstore,
Wiggler found it surprising that
Lucy was quite pleased with her
