Basketball season is nigh and
everyone knows that it is quite
an important event here. Our
team has come to deserve our
utmost support and the many
hoarse throats received each
morning after a game.
According to Coach Ben
Pomeroy each successive
season is getting stronger and
better spirited.
Coach Pomeroy believes that
this year's season will be even
stronger. A very promising
roster this year along with a
great increase in publicity
(including radio broadcasts) are
main factors which will make
our school the best this year.
The main determinant of a
successful season this year can
be the easiest to obtain w ith the
most lasting results. Coach
Pomeroy and the team are
counting on imr support this year
and (itir enthusiasm to again
make imr season the best ever.
Last year's support and
strength helped to make our
team a power in the conference.
The few games that were lost
were only by a slight margin.
Once again we are called upon
to give our team the very im
portant support it deserves.

More News For The VA
Few of the 727,000 veterans
and servicemen enrolled in GI
Bill college courses this fall will
need tutorial help, but the
Veterans Administration will
pay for it if needed.
VA Regional Office Director
H. W. Johnson said that the
program provides for payment
of tutoring costs, not to exceed
$50 in any month, up to a
maximum of $450. The benefit is
not charged against the
veteran’s or servicemen’s basic
edication entitlement, Johnson
pointed out.
Any post-secondary trainee is
eligible if he trains half-time or
more and has a deficiency in a
subject required in an approved
program of education.
In order to receive payment
for tutorial assistance, Johnson
advises eligible GI Bill trainees
to complete a VA application
