grease ladeled off.” Taylor is
also trying several new ideas in
serving the food. "We are
constantly trying to improve the
salad bar.” Also, in compliance
with many requests, hot Oat
meal is being served for Break
fast. "We even want to try to
have a buffet lunch once a
month," Taylor stated. There
was even a little talk of more
types of foods being served for
those who are on diets.
At the end of the meeting,
Taylor stated that the Cafeteria
workers were the "best food-
producing people . . . that I've
seen anywhere.”
As far as the student response
has been since the beginning of
this semester goes, it varies.
When asked, "Have you noticed
any difference in the food being
served this semester and the
food that was served last sem
ester? The following are some
of the responses:
Phil: "No. It's decent, but it
could be better. They need to
have more variety.”
Bert: "Yes, they have more
deserts.”
Tracy: "Not really, but 1 do
know this, ever since I got here,
1 have gotten a ‘whaletail'
because of too many carbohy
drates.”
Kim: "There has been a
noticable difference. The food
has picked up a little bit.”
These are just a few of the
responses received; however,
they are typical of all the
responses.
Dean Gordon Joyner, Dean of
Students, said that Cafeteria
improvements is a two-way
street. "The students are going
to have to take some of the
initiative to help. Like not
throwing food over that sky
light.” Joyner also stated that
the students would have to
make sure that they helped in
any way they could, such as
making sure they put up their
trays and the like.
Catherine Edwards. Chair
person for the newly formed
committee, said that another
way students could help is to tell
any member of the Food Com
mittee about any improvements
that might be made concerning
the Cafeteria.
