Atlantic Christian utilizes an
IBM S/34 on-line computer
system to perform many of the
basic routine procedures neces
sary for the operation of the
college. The computer is a tool
whereby students, faculty,
alumni, and various administr
ative offices may be better
served by having information
available in a short period of
time. For example, class rosters
are available to professors for
their first class session. Grade
reports are issured to students
within a day or two later the
close of the semester. Reports
normally requiring weeks of
work are available within a few
minutes.
At the present time, the
college has one console station
(located in the registrar’s area,
Belk Adm Bldg) and three CRT
terminals. One terminal is lo
cated in the Development Office
and is used by the Develop
ment, Alumni, Admissions, and
Student Services offices. One
terminal is located in the Busi
ness Office. One terminal is
located in the Business Depart
ment in Hines Hall and is used
for instruction purposes. In
addition, the Business Depart
ment has an IBM S/3 for
instruction purposes.
