AXO sponsofs Kids Vote, Coin Drive
The Omicron Delta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority
thanks faculty members and students who assisted with Kids
Vote on Election Day and also students who participated in
the campus beautification project on Nov. 2 and Nov. 9. The
sorority is sponsoring a coin drive for Urban Ministries Nov.
22-24. Student participation is requested.

The Natiffiial Security Education Program scholarsh^ is
being offeced to undergraduates wbo are interested in
studying abroad. The schobrsbip is designed to prq>are
students for careers by teaching language skills and cultural
understanding. Scholarships are offered to those students
mooring in engineering and applied sciences, business and
economics, international aff^, politics, social sciences,
health and law. The application deadline is Feb. 3,1997.

Hrst Belle Extravaganza Planned
The first Belle’s Extravaganza will be Nov. 16 from 8-2 pjn.
in the Ida B. Goode Gym. Vendors wiU sell items including,
oils, arts and crafts, and tapes. Admission is $1. The event is
sponsored by the Social Work Club.
Dorms Closed for Thanksglviiig
Residence halls will close for Thanksgiving break on
Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 5 p.m. and will not reopen until
Sunday, Dec. 5. Students who anticipate a problem locating
off-campus housing on these dates contact Amanda Williams
in the Office of Residence Life.

The UNCF Merck Scholarship and fellowship targets 15
African-American undergraduates interested in biomedical
research. Each scholarship award includes a tuition
scholarship of up to $25,000 and two Merck summer
internship stipends totaling $10,000. Applications are
available through chairs in academic departments.
