It’s time for us to get together and get our houses in order. It’s a shame that we, as Black women, can hardly speak to one another without some type of attitude. I think the day of the march will be a day of enhancing spiritual ity among women. We as Black women already have a hard time being the minority within the minority. We need to get it together and the show society that we are about business. TTiis march is definitely a start. Hopefully, the young and old women that attend will come back with some positive energy and feel a sense of excitement about being a Black woman preparing for the new millen nium. Brandi N. Hunter, sophomore mass communica tions, Harrisburg, Pa. Student corrects 'Banner' I was not pleased with the briefing of the Bryant Gumbel Scholarship in the last issue of the Banner. Ms. Tia Smith is a friend of mine and in no way am I upset that she received a "renewal” of the scholarship, but in actuality I was the only 1996- 97 recipient of the scholarship. I am not one who wishes to boast or brag, but the scholarship enabled me to continue my studies at Bennett College when otherwise I would not be here today. Maybe it is wise to get the facts about something, because you never know who it might affect. A ’Shauna Tyler, senior, mass communications Miami Book costs continued from Page 1 Betsy Johnson, bookstore man ager of Guilford College said that Guilford’s bookstore discounts textbooks from 15-25 percent off. Wendelin Douglas, bo*store manager of Bennett's boc^tore said that textbooks are discounted a standard percentage of 20-25 percent. As a means of ccsnbatting the high price of textbooks the faculty at Guilford College have adopted a policy on their textbooks called "Trade Books," - where faculty and students exchange books for a priceOTget another book in return.
