The Lady Belles put forth what was to be a losing effort, but they the game was still viewed as being betfer than the season opener against Chowan. "This is better than Saturday’s game when they played Chowan College," said Clindel Simmons, a juniorpsychology major from Ber muda. "They have a good chance to win the game if they just somehow keep it up," Simmons said. Frequent sp>ectator and an assis tant to the team Terry Cooper said the Belles needed to get focused mentally and physically in order to win, "They are faster in the back court but must play together more as a unit to come out on top. Cooper said. Forward Yolanda James, a sophomore from Virginia was the highest scoring Belle, earning a total of 15 points. The Belles will host Newport News at the next home game Jan. 16.
