Once Jones, Barge, Pfeiffer, Player, Reynolds, Memer, and Cone are vacated by students, the Bennett College maintenance de partment has a small window of time in which to prepare the dormitories before a variety of summer activities on campus be gins. Some of the summer activities, include the six-week summer school program, the Freshwomen Summer Institut and NASA. “ During the summer, the dorms go through plastering, plumbing, painting, and anything else that is needed,”said Andrena Coleman, director of institutional research planning and budgeting. The facelift process involves the repairs of the inside and outside of dorms as well as the dorm furni ture. Broken door handles, broked window screens, and sofas in the parlor will be replaced or fixed. Another part of the dorm refur bishing includes pest control. "One of the biggest projects is a major extermination process that Bennett goes through every sum mer," Coleman said. Coleman also said that the ex termination process should take care of any kind of pest problems such as rodents or insects. You don’t have to know somcon« roally well to give tho porlect gift.
