KKW A A. SAMUELS Editor Shame on you media Bill and Monica. It seems as though their story will never end. The most recent account of their saga concerns the worldwide release of Clinton’s 4-hour and 3- minute grand jury testimony that took place Sept. 21. Under ordinary circumstances a grand jury inquiry is supposed to be secretive. This time, however, independent coun cil Ken Starr decided it would be in the best interest of the country to finally know the truth about what happened between the President and Monica, and released his reports to the public which included the deposition tape of President Clinton. The media seemed to have agreed. The presidents of CNN, ABC, NBC and FOX said it was "history in the making," and "everyone should have the chance to view it." According to the Sept. 28 issue of Broadcasting and Cable, none of the networks previewed the tapes, having only received them five minutes before air time. Their resolu tion; show a disclaimer saying there will be graphic material discussed. The quality of media has definitely declined. I am embarrassed to be a student of a profession who wants to take advantage of a situation that normally would not have escalated this far.
