When she was 30, she became the first African-American woman neurosurgeon in the United States. • 9,1923 Dorothy Dandridge is bom in Cleve land. She became a multi-talented come dian and actress and is known today as Whoopi Goldberg. Goldberg won an academy award for best supporting actress in the movie "Ghost."
