V iii Shanika Choo-Ying, a biology major from Brooklyn, N.Y. has been accepted to the Life University Chiropractic School in Georgia; Renee Moore, a mathematics major from New Jersey has been accepted to Emory University in Georgia. Darlene Simmons, a chemistry major from Beauford, S.C. has been accepted to the Georgia Tech School of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Tangela Williams, a psychology major from South Carolina has been accepted to various graduate schools and programs. Philippa Stuart, a psychol ogy major from Hyattesville, Md. has been accepted to the Howard University Clinical Psychology Program. Naima Barbour, a mass communications major from Fort Washington, Md. has been accepted into American University. Kenya Samuels, a mass communications major from Houston, Texas has also been accepted into American University. Jamika Whatley, a computer science major from Atlanta has accepted a position with the IBM Corporation in Dallas, Texas starting in July. !!! Five students attended the North Carolina Academy of Science and received research awards for their presentations March 27. Mariska Adams, & biology major from Danville, Va. won second place in the Biochemistry I Session; Janell Catlin, a biology major from New Jersey won second place in the Biochemistry II Session; Allison Smith, a psychology major from Baltimore, won second place in the Health and Behavioral Sciences Sessions: LaVita Nicole Sellars, a biology major from Greensboro won second place in the Zoology Session; and Star Allen, a psychology major from Detroit won an honorable mention in the Zoology Session. !I! The first volume in The Bennett College Social Justice Lecture Series was released during the 125th Anniversary Celebration of Bennett College. The volume includes speeches by Willa B. Player, Eleanor Roosevelt, Benjamin E. Mays, John Hope Franklin, and Jessie Carney Smith. SACS During the past 18 months, 10 committees composed of Ben nett faculty, staff, and administra tors have been preparing self study reports about all institu tional areas and programs. All the reports were compiled into one Self S tudy document for the SACS team examine and determine whether Bennett should be reac- credited.
