Mrs. Gene Couch says she in tends to spank Rat Darnell. That is news. Need any extra padding. Rat? Hope Brown is a lucky loom fixer. None of his weavers chew, dip or dissipate otherwise, “but” they all vote a Republican ticket. I’m sure Hope should wear a “Willkie” badge. Anybody have one? Mr. and Mrs. D. O. What’s become of Henry Cock- erham’s broad belt, and where did that much leather come from, to begin with? He couldn t have worn it for the same reason George Washington wore red and white suspenders. If Mozelle Alexander, Fannie Henderson, Zenas Harris, Garn West, Emma Emerson or Annie Baker ever admitted having news the shock would be so great that we would never be able to get it on paper. Fatherly advice to some of my young friends. Henry, dating the same girl fourteen nights m a row, is sticking your neck out too, too far. Our hats off to Vallie Harpe. She was an angel of mercy dur ing the recent flood. Her home was opened to her neighbors who lost their homes in the flood. It has been reported that she cared for four families for several r days. Davis Osborne, the next time your girl wants to play Amazon, send for me. I like them rough. Curt Hall, chaperones may be old fashioned but you would be much safer, if you kept within yelling distance of one. DYE HOUSE We are glad to have Lee Roy Rogers with us from the wet fin ishing department. Hub Durham and family visit ed relatives near Pea Ridge re cently. We regret that Woodrow Hoop er has left us. Quite a few in this department are out sick. We wish for them a speedy recovery. CARDING C Shift I think this is the first time have been heard from on this sriift. Not many of us go any where except home to bed and back to work. We wonder what went with the cabbage John “Barker” Hamm bovight for someone? How does Andy Key expect to eat corn on the cob with his teeth up in Dr. Fox’s office? Andy says he can manage all right if the corn is condensed into a liquid. We could tell you why Pres Southard, Frank Stroud and Clay Burchette had to buy glasses, but maybe you had better ask them. Ab Crater’s all smiles now. Someone is coming back from a vacation soon. Fred “Speed” Vestal attended the motorcycle races at Boone last Sunday. When you want something good to eat at a low price, drive over and look for the snappy lunch. Lon’s place in Jonesville.
