PAGE EIGHT THE ECHO OCTOBER, 1943 BRYSON Ottis J. Bryson, Seaman Second Class, who has recently been sta tioned at the Naval Air Sta tion at Pensacola, Florida, has been assigned to a ship. Before go ing into service, Seaman Bryson was a member of the Ecusta Clean er Crew. MULLENAX Pfc. John P. Mullenax, former ly employed by Ecusta as a Blen der Helper, has been transferred from Camp Bow ie, Texas, to Camp Phillips, Kansas. He has been in the Army since November 4,1942, Christmas BISHOP S-Sgt. John E. Bishop, who is now with the U. S. Marine Corps somewhere over seas, wrote re cently that he was “8,000 miles from Ecusta”. He was previous ly stationed at San Diego, Calif. Before going in to the Marines, May, 1941, he was employed, in Ecusta Slitter Service. COMBS Pvt. A. Bryan Combs, Jr., was shipped overseas in February. He is with the Army Infantry. Pvt. Combs was one of Ecusta’s Drafts men before he entered the ser- V i c e June 20, 1942. He was stationed at Fort Belvoir, Va., be fore being shipp ed overseas. GRIBBIN Cpl. John H. Gribbin, former ly employed in the office of Ecusta, is now with an Army Chemical Com pany somewhere overseas. He was inducted into the Army in Novem ber of 1942. Since then he has been stationed at At lantic City. N. J. and Camp Sibert, Gadsden, Ala. MORRIS Pfc. C. Clinton Morris, former Ecusta Chemical Helper who join ed the Marine Corps Dec. 30 of 1941, is now somewhere over seas. He was pre viously stationed at the Marine Barracks, Parris Island, S. C. DRAKE . Pvt. W. Edwin Drake, former Ecusta Backtend- er, went into the Army on May 16, 1942 and since then he has had seven changes of address. At pres ent he is station ed at Rosecrans Field, St. Joseph, Missouri. BAGWELL Pfc. Lewis P. (“Bugeye”) Bag- well, former Ecusta Backtend- er who left De cember 29, 1942, is now stationed at Smoky Hill Army Air Field, Salina, Kansas. He has been sta tioned in Den ver, Colorado and at Tucson, Ari zona. BAGWELL Lambert E. Bag- well, Jr., Petty Officer, former Ecusta Machine Tender who left to join the navy Jan. 31, 1942, is now on overseas duty. Petty Of ficer Bagwell re ceived his naval training at the Naval Training Station, Norfolk, Va. HILL Pvt. Edward J. Hill, former Tes ter in the Ecusta Physical Lab., went into military service on De cember 9, 1942. He has been sta tioned at Keesler Field, Miss.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Spokane, Wash. He is now sta tioned at Colo- r a d 0 Springs, Colo. LYDAY Pvt. John E.‘ Lyday, who left here November 20, 1942 to join the Army Ai»* Corps, is now a Radio Operator and is stationed at Scott Field, 111. Before going into the service he was a Tester in the Physical Laboratory of Ecusta. COLEMAN T. Leslie Cole man, former Champagne Printing Operator who left to join the Merchant Ma rine in Nov. of 1942, is now an officer. He is stadoned at the City of Flint, Ludington, Mich, on the Great Lakes. MERRILL Pvt. Paul E. Merrill is now stationed at the Army Air Field, Las Vegas, Ne vada. Pvt. Merrill was inducted in to the Army March 18, 1943. While employed at Ecusta, h e was a Blender Helper. He i s taking training in gunnery. CORN J. Earl Com, Seaman, Second Class, is now stationed at an amphibious train ing base at Lit tle Creek, Va. He entered the Navy May 14, 1943. Previous to mili tary service, he was employed by Ecusta as Third Hand in the Ma chine Room. ERWIN Technical Sgt. Harold L. Erwin, former Champag ne Gumming Op erator who left here July 24,1941 is now stationed at the Army Air Field, Ft. Worth, Texas. 'Before being sent to Fort Worth, T-Sgt. Er win was stationed at Frederick, Ok lahoma. JACKSON Pfc. Robert W. Jackson has land ed in England. From all reports he likes it fine. The above picture of Pvt. Jackson was not taken in England, how ever, but on Long Beach, California. Before leaving Ecusta Jan. 28, 1943, he was a Control Tester. HILL Pvt. -John D. Hill is now sta tioned at Nash ville, Tennessee; he was previous ly stationed at Camp Edwards, Massachu setts. Before leaving to join the Army in January of this year. Pvt. Hill was in Slitter Department at Ecusta.
