august, 1944 THE ECHO PAGE SEVEN Over Million Meals Served In Ecusta Cafeteria ESTABLISHED 3 YEARS AGO, IS WELL EQUIPPED Company Operates Cafe teria And Cahteen For All Employees More than 1200 meals are pre pared and served daily in Ecusta’s ^autiful and modern cafeteria. This building is completely equip ped with the most modern equip ment that can be obtained. The cafeteria was established August 6, 1941, in order to provide ^ good place for Ecustans to eat. Since its opening an estimated |otaI number of 1,226,500 meals have been prepared and served. Nearly five years ago when the Plant was first placed in operation, Was not the easiest thing to find ^ place to eat near the plant. Ecus- tans had to either grab a sandwich the small canteen which was heing operated at that time or “^*ing their own lunch. To a man ^ho is working on a job that re quires all of his skill and energy, this plan of eating is not always satisfactory, so the management ^ecided that something should be 'lone about it. And something really big was done! We have today one of the nicest and best Equipped cafeterias in this part of the country. . The attractive cafeteria building itself is very modern and well built is designed so that employees ^an get quick and efficient service and have a comfortable, pleasant Place in which to eat. The cafe teria is operated by the company ^ithaut profit, the main policy be- to give good quality food to employees at a reasonably price. because of the nature of their Respective jobs, it is not possible for every Ecusta worker to eat his Ideals in the cafeteria. Many of he jobs in the plant require the operators to stay in constant at tendance. To take care of these Employees, a lunch wagon is sent h^ough the mill once during each ?hift. A menu, as full as possible, carried on this wagon. , . breakfast is served every mom- between the hours of 7:00 a. and 9:00 a. m. Lunch begins ®t 11:30 o’clock with the Finishing ^^Partment. Other departments ^onie in later with the luncheon Period being extended until 1 '^^lock. Supper is served at 8 o’- to the Finishing department to anyone else who is working t that time and wants to eat. ^etween these regular meal times the cafeteria, the Canteen is Pen and short orders are served. Here^s Part Of The Cafeteria And Canteen Staff th e Canteen closes at 7 p. m. for ® evening; it opens again at 11 ni. for an hour during shift- thi P. ^^nging time and again at 4 a. m. p feed employees working the «raveyard shift. ^ The kitchen is large and well ?^ipped with modern and effi- equipment and enjoys a ade “A” rating, one of the high est liad Sin. m the state. He has be,en with the company for sev eral years and has headed our eating establishments for some time.
