Miss Charlotte Barnwell and Mrs. Avery were co hostesses for the affair. Those present were: Mrs. Silver Mann, Miss Chiarlotte Barnwell, Mrs. Marie Nelson, Mrs. Ann Mi- senheimer. Miss Sammie Hensley, Miss Lucille Dockens, Miss Violet Lyday, Mrs. Lillian King, Miss Margaret Smith, Mrs. Sara Loftis Miss Lillie Siniard, Miss Eula Gray, Mrs. Alberta Talley, Mrs. Al ma Holtzclaw, Mrs. Clara Bryson Mrs. Sarah Avery, and Mrs. Dock ens. Following Mrs. Dockens’ shower, Mrs. Ann Misenheimer and Mrs Marie Nelson were co-hostesses for a surprise housewarming for Mrs. Avery. Mr. and Mrs. Avery, and daughter, have just moved into their new pre-fab home in North Brevard Both honorees received many lovely gifts. They were married on April 26 at Clayton, Ga., and are making their home at the Mon- teith House in Pisgah Forest. MRS. SPROUSE Galloway-Sprouse Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Lois Gallo way, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oli ver Galloway of Rosman, and Mr. Bill Sprouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sprouse of Brevard. The cer emony took place on April 26, 1947, at Clayton, Georgia. Mrs. Sprouse attended Rosman schools and is at present employed in Champagne. Mr. Sprouse attended Brevard schools and is employed in Land scape. They are making their home in Brevard. Fruitstains can easily be re- mo ved from a tablecloth by stretching the stained area over a bowl and pouring boiling water over it from a height of eight to ten inches. Charles Orr And Helen Nicholson Wed On May 24th Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Nichol son, of Penrose, announce the mar riage of their daughter, Helen, to Mr. Charles Orr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Orr, of Penrose. The ceremony took place at the home of Rev. Carl Blythe of Blantyre on Saturday, May 24, with the Rev. Blythe officiating. Only a few close friends and relatives were pres ent. The bride wore an attractive beige gabardine suit with white ac cessories. Her corsage was of red roses. Mrs. Orr graduated from Brevard high school and at present is em ployed in Machine Booklet. Mr. Orr also graduated at Bre vard high school and works in the Finishing department. Mr. and Mrs. Orr are making their home in Bre vard. McCall-Newton The marriage of Miss Myrtle McCall to Mr. Glen Newton has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McCall of Franklin. Mr. Newton is the son of Mrs. Willie Tinsley of Brevard. The wedding took place at Clay ton, Ga., on April 26th. Mrs. Newton attended school at Franklin and is employed in the Inspection department. Mr. Newton attended Brevard schools and is an employee of the Cafeteria. Galloway-Eason Wedding Announcec Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Galloway, of Brevard, announce the marriage of their daughter. Miss Necia Gallo way, to Mr. Robert G. Eason, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Eason Sr., of Birmingham, Ala. The wed ding took place on March 23 at the First Baptist church in Greenville S. C., with the Rev. Eads, pastor of the church, officiating. The best man was James Pres ton Galloway, brother of the bride and Miss Mary Helen Galloway was her sister’s maid of honor. Only a few close friends and relatives were present. The bride wore an aqua wool crepe suit with white accessories. Her corsage was of white roses. Mrs. Eason graduated from Bre vard high school and attended Bre vard college. The groom graduated from Bre vard high school and, after spend ing three years in the Navy, is at present employed in the Machine Room. After a brief honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Eason are making their home in Brevard. Ducker-Scruggs The marriage of Miss Grace Ducker to Mr. Donald Scruggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Scruggs of Horse Shoe, on April 5th at the Boylston Baptist church has been announced. Miss Ducker is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Ducker of Arden. Mr. Scruggs served with the Navy three years and is at pres ent employed in the Maintenance i Department. Smith-Barnett Mr. and Mrs. Grover Smith, of Mills River, announce the marriage of their daughter, Evelyn, to Mr. James Barnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Barnett of Mountain Home. The wedding took place in Hender sonville on April 18. Mr. and Mrs. Barnett graduated from Mills River high school. Mrs. Barnett is employed in Champagne. Bowen-Buchanan Marriage Announced Announcement has been made of the recent marriage of Mr. Clyde J. Buchanan to Mrs. Dollie Allison Bowen on May 17 at 8:00 p. m. Rev. McAuley, of the Sec ond Baptist Church of Brevard, was the officiating pastor.
