Tom McCall recently won his 20th game of the season for Mooresville, and thus became the second pro pitcher in the state to break the 20 mark this season. He is also hitting a fancy .302. Roy Whitaker’s 12-5 won and lost record with Mobile makes him a leading Southern League chunk er. Gil Coan is batting .340 for Chattanooga and is leading the league in stolen bases with 38, including several thefts of home. Ja«x D.MONa*.x^ Much Enthusiasm In Model Airplane Club A fast growing hobby, that of building and flying gas model air planes, has taken root here and several employees of our com panies and employees’ children are members of the local model air plane club. The model planes and gas en gines are far from being toys. The models are replicas and scale mod els of famous civil and military planes. The engines are powerful miniatures, some of them capable of making 125 miles an hour. The scope of the sport has reached tre mendous proportions. Several weeks ago 120,000 people attend ed a show on Long Island, N. Y., while one at nearby Greenville, S. C., drew a crowd of more than 10,- 000. The local club has been using the Ecusta baseball field for fly ing its planes. It is hoped that a field meeting all flying require ments can be obtained in the fu ture. Members of the local club who are employees of Ecusta or sons of Ecusta employees are as follows: William Fetzer, Gene Eggert, Ce cil Smathers, Wayne Kerber, Frank Kerber, Bruce Petit, Ed Ed wards, Jack Edwards, Dobin Mc Crary, Larry Dixon, Jr., Buzzy De- Bord, Bobby Clark, Eric Neumann, and J.
