PAGE TEN THE ECHO decembee, !«■ Meet The Wife — And The Children This is the first of what we hope to make a monthly feature in The Echo. It will be called “Meet the Wife,” and will introduce to Echo readciTs many helpmates of our men employees. To lead off the parade, the Echo photographer had an enjoyable visit to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellred Odell Shook at 408 Cald well Street, Brevard, to snap a picture of Mrs. Shook and the two fine children. Danny Wayne is the wide awake and busy 14 month old boy in the picture while Nancy Jane shows all the re serve and charm that an eight year-old, third grade student possess. Like all house wives these days, Mrs. Shook is busy with her many household duties and attentions to the children, but main tains her winsome personality that has gained for her many friends in Brevard and vicinity. Her husband is in the Inspection department and has been with the company since April, 1941. First ’48 Arrival To Get $25.00 Bond At any time during the year, each new baby brought by Dr. Stork to an Ecusta home auto matically gets a beautiful new blanket, but once a year there’s a big additional award — a $25 savings bond. This gift goes to the first arrival of the new year. Last year, Robert Bryant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Peckham, made his debut the first day of the year at 11 a.m., and he “crawled” off with top honors before another entry had a chance. After almost a year in the world, he apparently is hap py about everything, as evidenc ed by the picture on Page 16. The rules this year are the same as in the past. The father or mother, or both, must be a regular employee of our com panies working in the plant here. A doctor’s certificate or the name of the attending physician must accompany each entry, with the name of the parents, day and hour of birth, baby’s name and weight. Your entry must be sub mitted to The Echo office on or before January 15th. The winner will be announced in the January Echo.
